But the Ratchet & Clank series has managed to consistently deliver the goods, pumping out one wholly entertaining adventure after another. This is not as easy as it sounds, not by a long shot it requires careful balance and pacing, plopping progressively more difficult challenges in front of the player while keeping a constant stream of upgrades and collectibles flowing. Even the comparatively heavy Resistance series is friendly to newcomers, while providing a notable challenge to more serious players and obsessive completists. Let me tell you what I like about Insomniac games: Since the early days of Spyro the Dragon, the studio has always managed to make its games both accessible and rewarding.

Kids watching their parents play will probably get into it as much as if they were watching their favorite movie a 12-14 hour long movie.
The music, the voice acting, and the sound effects are all of movie quality and make this game even more desirable. To round out the majestic presentation, the soundtrack is also splendid. For the most part, you won't find a single problem with the visuals, and camera issues are virtually non-existent, unless you try to do something silly to force awkward camera angles. The characters look slick, and the cartoon-style commercials are charming and hilarious at the same time. The gorgeous, three-dimensional HD visuals are loaded with amazing details and textures that are on par with today's most ambitious animated movies. The entire presentation of A Crack in Time is almost to die for. The controls in A Crack in Time are flawless and easy to learn for the most part, though it takes some getting used to walking with the gravity boots in certain areas, and some of the weapons employ the SIXAXIS motion controls, which wouldn't necessarily be my preference.

As always, there's the different action buttons, plus the weapons, which can be mapped to the D-Pad for quick access, though they can also be picked from the menu the triangle button brings up. Controls-wise, nothing has really changed that much.
